I confess I am a boot girl. I love wearing boots. I wore boots to my high school prom, I wore boots to my wedding. I also confess that I don’t even own a single pair of high heels. I’m a comfortable, sensible footwear sort of lady, I am.
So, when I was given the opportunity to review a pair of Bogs waterproof footwear I browsed their women’s footwear section and picked a pair of rather funky Sidney Wool insulated boots that made my heart do that little pitter-patter ‘new boots’ leap. A pair that would have made my teenage grunge self rather proud: the Sidney Wool insulated boot in all it’s laced 7-hole glory.
These 100% waterproof insulated boots act like a pair of rubber boots, but they look like a pair of awesome biker-style boots. They’re waterproof nearly right up to the top edge – the laces and boot tongue are just for decoration only, as the entire boot is made from one complete waterproof piece, like a pair of rubber boots, with the lace up bits sewn on (and waterproof sealed on the inside) for embellishment.
They’re properly waterproof too – I spent yesterday on a four-a-reen boat with a friend fishing for mackerel and I could stand in the water with him to help push the boat out, no bother. I’m seriously impressed with these boots – not only do they look amazing, they’re practical (for all your pushing boats out from shore and gutting mackerel needs) and they’re super comfy too. Plus, they make you do the new boot walk. Check out the silly music video below that my husband and I made one rainy day recently!
These boots are constructed from 5mm thick Neo-Tech insulation so, in additional to being super stylish and functional, they’re warm too. Standing in the North Sea? No bother; these boots are comfort rated to -15 C. Awesome. What more can you ask for in a boot?
