One day I was faced off by an old lady that stood in the middle of the pavement. I got of my bike and tried to pass. but she would not let me. YOUR BREAKING THE LAW! she commented. I said I know but I don’t ride where there is people walking. she lifted up her stick and waved it at me and said “IT DOES NOT MATTER, YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAW, GET ON THE ROAD. I smiled at her and agreed with what she said. “SORRY MA” I said to her and took off on the road. I am a believer in justice and she taught me a lesson to practice what you preach. I still go on the path if it is clear. but not where MA lives.

When I first left home and moved in with my now husband I thought I would make my first apple crumble. I only had half the amount of flour needed so decided to top it up with bicarbonate of soda which in my mind was similar consistency and would work. Looked beautiful but tasted like acid. My husband still attempted to eat it – that must be love.

I’ve built up enough trust over the past couple of years, that a male fox that visits nightly and who has been taking food home for his possibly injured vixen since around about the time she would’ve given birth, that the past few weeks he has been bringing his whole family – the vixen looks well and I’ve seen 3 cubs playing on the lawn – one of the cubs is like daddy’s sidekick and is never that far from dad. I’ve called the male Alfie and watched with amazement as he has raised the cubs, cared for a partner, shared food into 3 piles and led each cub to the pile he wanted them to have. I learn more about these intelligent animals all the time, yet often have even more questions! This fox family have found a way into our hearts, and all our leftovers, and they are even friends with the cats. Hope this makes you smile.
Aw, that is lovely! Yes, I smiled 🙂 I am currently sitting in Aberdeen airport waiting for my flight to Paris. I have a cuddly toy fox geocaching travel bug in my camera bag coming along for the adventure. 🙂

One thing my Nan taught me was to make sure that you have a good set of knives in the kitchen she had a knife from when she worked on an American air base and it has been passed down one day it will become mine. But in the meantime these knives would be great. Good luck all
