What do you get when you take a large willow branch that didn’t survive the winter gales, some white spray primer paint, plenty of scraps of ribbon collected off boxes of chocolates, some painted rocks and an old plant pot?
A beautiful Easter Tree and small children entertained for at least an hour!
Take your branch and spray paint it outside and let it dry. Place upright in a plant pot and surround in enough rocks and dirt so that it stays upright.
If your children are beach rock collectors like mine you’ll have plenty of smooth rocks laying around the garden. Wash and dry them and let the children have at with some acrylic paints. Allow the paint to dry and arrange the rocks around the base of the tree.
Adorn with ribbons. An Easter Tree like this can be pretty versatile. For older children you could always decorate blown eggs or get the children to draw/colour/paint decorations.
Alternately, cut the Easter designs out of Easter egg packaging – there are always nice designs on the boxes which more often than not just end up in the bin. We opted for simple ribbons tied on the white branches.
